Some quick blogging
No blogging since Sunday morning, so it's time for a quick entry. I was busy with other things on Sunday, didn't feel very well yesterday (I went to bed at 20:30...) and want to start working on the last page for the Scotland Summer 2003 travelogue this evening. Nevertheless a few links I found interesting the last few days:
- I don't get it. Leeds United plc (or whatever the company name is) make a GBP49.5m pre-tax loss (more details) yet the chairman thinks that's not a problem, really. Any normal company with finances like that would be in receivership by now. Any normal person who spends more than they earn would have the bank knocking on the door very soon. But not Leeds United. Any normal company would reduce the wage bill, any normal person would have to reduce their spending. Not Leeds United, their wage bill goes up (despite selling some of their more expensive players). What am I missing here?
- I was expecting Stefan Smalla to blog this, but at least of writing this he hasn't: BusinessWeek have a cover story about Dell's management secrets, quite interesting read.
- Bullshit Bingo? Adaptive Enterprise Strategy: Um, yeah, so?. Enough said.
- The Royal Soap Opera. That probably describes it best. I'm constantly changing stations to avoid Mr Burrell and his revelations. Quite difficult at the moment...
- Interesting comment about private -vs- public schools. I'll let you decide which side to take ;-)
That'll do. Back to the pictures.
