Sunrise in Aldermaston Wharf

Not only do I get some quite nice sunsets here in Aldermaston Wharf (see also the Aldermaston Wharf Sunset Panorama), I also get to see the occasional nice sunrise. Well, at least at this time of the year, during the summer when the sun rises earlier and sets later it does so ‘behind’ the house. In other words, I have to use the opportunity now. Here's a recent sunrise seen from my lounge:

At the moment sunrise falls together with the time I go jogging every morning, running on the towpath of the Kennet and Avon Canal. Thursday morning the weather looked quite promising, so I took a small camera with me to see if I could take any pictures on the way. Here the sun is just about to rise above the hills between Aldermaston and Padworth, seen from near Fronds Bridge:

The view above was taken on the way out, approx 1/4 into my run. About 20 minutes later I passed the same spot again on the return leg, by now the sun had just risen above the hills in the distance:

May be 200 metres along the path is a tree plantation, next to the disused gravel pit at Aldermaston Wharf. Here we can see the sun rising through the trees, reflecting in the water of one of the lakes:

And that's enough sunrise pictures.
