I'm not sure if the title for this posting is "grammatically" correct txt, but then more and more often teachers are having problems deciphering the essays their students write. At least those written in text message shorthand, which seems to be happening more and more often. How will the future of written communication look, sms txt or "old-fashioned" writing?

I must be an old fogey. I this text messaging is great, but I always type out all the words - I send text messages, not txt msgs.
Call me Grandad.

And, in case you were wondering, "I this text messaging is great" is not some cryptic shorthand, but a typo - it should read "I think text messaging is great".
