Light blogging
Blogging is light at the moment as I'm busy at work as well as preparing for my upcoming holiday. I'll soon go "offline" for two weeks, where probably not much (if anything) is going to happen here (or on any of my sites for that matter).
Weather isn't too promising at the moment, there's a storm blowing around the house, combined with heavy rain. I hope it improves by the time I leave.
To give you something to read a few links I found interesting the last few days:
- My various inboxes will probably be full of spam when I return. I quite like the idea towards the end of this article about spam: Develop a spam answering bot that keeps the spammers busy with bogus answers showing interest in their products. I know this won't work because of the faked reply addresses, but I still like the idea of a spammer having a conversation with a bot.
- Apparently I don't have a lot of self-confidence, am shy and introvert and am well educated. I'm male and not that good in social interaction. Well, at least if I conform to the average personal homepage/website owner. That's what some German researchers from the University Chemnitz claim to have found out in a recent psychological study (Sorry, in German only)
- What's wrong with just eating less? The Sunday Herald reports that sweet manufacturers have now developed "Atkins friendly chocolate". More expensive than normal chocolate or sweets, well, I guess it's only fair if you really need to follow every stupid fad...
- And finally something holiday related: Six of the best Hebridean Isles. I've been to five of them and will (re-)visit two of them this summer (and will see a third from the road and the ferry). I recommend you do the same when you get a chance.
