Football -vs- Football

I'm not sure who said this (Billy Connolly? Jack Dee? Eddie Izzard? Someone else?) and I'm not entirely sure about the exact words, but this is roughly as I remember it:

What you call soccer we call football and what you call football we call pointless

Russell Beattie, an American who just returned to the US after living in Spain for a few years, has just realised how much better proper football is and why American Football has never really caught on anywhere outside the US. Homesick to Europe already, Russ?
