Tax return over the phone?

Apparently it's already available in the US and Canada (Can anyone comment on that?), now the Inland Revenue is planning to introduce tax return filing over the phone in the UK. I'm not sure how this will work and how long you would have to spend on the phone to get this done. I can't really see me doing this if it goes "Press 1 to..., press 2 to..., press 3 to...", I think I'll go for the Online tax return this year.
