Good News From Colonsay
Regular readers will know of my frequent visits to Islay with the next one coming up in less than two weeks for WalkIslay. From Islay it is not far to Colonsay (and Oronsay), so far I've been four times: Three times on the Wednesday day trip and then last year I visited for a few days. During that visit I stayed in the Colonsay Hotel. Unfortunately the hotel closed in December 2004 and was put up for sale. At last there are some good news, as Peter Parkes just informed me:
The hotel has been sold and in particular the pub should reopen soon. While I'm not sure yet if I'll visit this summer I'm sure I'll visit again some day. And an island without hotel and pub just wouldn't be very nice. Especially after returning from the walk over The Strand to Oronsay.
And I should get going on the excursion to Colonsay page I've been planning for a while on my Isle of Islay pages. Another good reason to finally get it done.
