Some Mackintosh news
Having just visited Hill House and Scotland Street School again I thought it might be a good time for some Charles Rennie Mackintosh links:
Some long lost work by Mackintosh has been rediscovered. I first read about the mural in Dysart Kirk in the Herald, unfortunately I forgot to cut out the article and the picture (the online version of The Herald doesn't have the picture). However, I managed to find an article with a picture in the Evening Telegraph. Something to follow to see how this develops.
The Scotsman mentioned a new book about Charles Rennie Mackintosh a few weeks ago (The Quest for Charles Rennie Mackintosh by John Cairney), at the time I dismissed it as not very interesting. I blame the fairly bad quality of the text in The Scotsman (not exactly my favourite paper anyway), especially because I've since read a much more thorough review in the Sunday Herald. This review changed my mind and I've decided to buy it once the credit card bill from my holiday has been paid.
